Have you guys tried mobile banking? Specifically this one for Blackberry users?

I recently downloaded this “mobile app” from BPI Thumbs Banking last week and I haven’t used it ‘coz of some unknown problems with my GPRS settings from Globe Telecom:

I can’t log in! Damn it!

So I called up 8-700 89-100 (nagulat ako na Jollibee pala yung isa ) for assistance. Girl said I’m not enrolled to any SMS/Mobile accounts yet so she suggested I register for the Globe Menu-Based mobile banking. So far so good! I’ve successfully transferred GCASH to my BPI account via mobile. Cool! I’m literally a busy girl so I don’t have time t0 withdraw money from Globe and deposit to BPI. I recommend this SMS banking thing between Globe and BPI.

But since I’m maarte by nature, I want to use the “mobile app” instead of the Globe menu. Someone help me fix my log-in problem! Ktnxbye.

UPDATE! 07/16/2010: I was able to talk to Zoe from BPI earlier and she told me that they’re doing some adjustments with their mobile app specifically for users like me who’s using a BB with Globe supersurf postpaid line. They’re having issues with the APN/BIS charging of Globe and would not want their BPI customers be charged w/ extra (HIGH ) GPRS fees whenever app (think twitter for bb app, unlimited tweeting) is used. Zoe isn’t familiar with the supermax plan so I asked her to check it out and compare.

I love BPI na, they care for their customers.

Finally received my bill this morning. And no, its still the Php5.8k bill I blogged about yesterday. While on my way to work, got a text message from 290 (Globe):

Wow. Are you guys kidding me?

I AM ON SUPERSURF AND I AM FREAKIN’ WORRIED WITH MY BILL!

I am trying to call the bill people on 730-1000. But hey guess what? NO ONE’S ANSWERING! Thank God Mom and @ssowy’s to the rescue! Bad Globe Telecom! BAD!

UPDATE!!! 3:00PM Got a call from Jenna of Globe. They’re reversing my GPRS charge because 1.) I have ZERO idea about that APN bitch 2.) its the first time it happened to my account (so it served as a warning) and 3.) they thought I requested them to cut my supersurf subscription which gave them a reason to charge me with regular KB browsing rates (which is so not cool IMHO).

She gave me tips though to prevent this from happening in the near future… In your BB browser, go to Options >  Browser Configuration > make sure you choose either Internet/Hotspot browser and NEVER MyGlobe. Basta it will prevent you from opening those non APN bitch sites.

OR, you may opt to upgrade your BB supersurf to BB Max para literally Globe All You Can.

After a few minutes… I STILL DON’T GET IT. Sana they reverse charges din to other “victims” of their wrong advertisement. But I’m thankful I don’t need to pay that much for my bill anymore. Thank you na rin Globe.

P.S. Jenna gave me another tip: If you badly need to talk to a Globe CSR, grab your mobile and dial 211 instead of calling them through their landline. Dear Globe, if walang sasagot sa 730-1000, tanggalin niyo na lang siya please. ktnxbye.

Someone save me from Globe and their deceitful offers.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, I’m sure you guys have read my rants and raves about telco companies and their services, specifically with Globe Telecom. Its that time of the month once again where I look for my bills and pay them in full asap. But since I haven’t received mine as of the moment, I tried checking it online. Check-out my bill for the month of June 2010:

So the reklamadora in me was once again alive and kickin, I just had to post and ask them directly. The globe girl named Faith gladly answered my queries. And here’s what Faith replied:

I agree with one of my twitter followers, Kevin Japyoco said “They (GLOBE) make so many plans. They should just simplify them and bring down the rates.” TRUE! August 2008, Yugatech posted an entry about postpaid subscribers spending 7x more than the usual prepaid user and I just have to agree! After almost 2 years, ganun pa rin ang nangyayari. Parang dirty politics lang…

Sa totoo lang, Sun Cellular is THE SHIT when it comes to postpaid plans. PERIOD.

UPDATE: I’m not techy. I don’t know APN. Globe can’t give me the list of sites I visited so I just had to check the browser history of my BB. Can someone tell me which of them is/not under that APN shit:

THIS JUST IN! Update from Sir Abe: Sun Cellular now offers Blackberry Internet Service! Praise the king of all unlimited mobile plans! Wooohoooo!

I feel so old right now. I’ve been paying bills, fixing papers, applying for whatever government IDs, etc.

I need to fix my tin id, apply for philhealth and earn more money. Blaaahhh.

Get a G-Text 500 plan + ask Globe to activate my BIS for P450 = P950 a month OR…

Just fuckin’ wait for cellular companies to offer cheaper BB plans in the future. I mean, I can wait. I don’t need to use my BB just to surf.

There are PROS and CONS: What do you guys think?

****For new BB owners like me, please take note that Globe STILL has the Php450 BIS activation and the BB Personal Plans. They offer almost everything that you see in their website, except of course the Connected 24-ever which was re-launched and renamed Globe SuperSurf (24/7 unlimited mobile internet, P2000 a month). Beware of csr’s that offer ONLY SuperSurf. Seems to me that not all of them are knowledgeable with their products and services. ****
