Blackberry and Telcos

August 3, 2010 Technology Comments

Its official, my personal online space is now a rant blog thanks to Globe Telecom and their super duper supersurf services. I’ve had enough with Globe, I quit with their BiS BS promos. I had my phone remotely unlocked last week by some geek user from Sulit. I thought I was scammed but let me save that for another entry… For only Php300 pesos, my BB Curve 8520 is now unlocked and I can freely use Smart/Sun with it. Amazing!

Now all I have to do is unsubscribe my not so supersurf and get a plan with Sun Cellular.

No wonder all the stars are switching telcos. It started with Sharon and the latest is John Lloyd. Whew!

Ever since I got my BB back in 2009 I’ve been trying to figure out how to get those “hidden” BBM smilies. Puro trial and failure. :| A few months later and.. voila! They’re installed in my BB curve. ;) Woohoo! Thanks to fellow member BigBadWulf of Crackberry forums for sending them to me!

P.S. Sorry for spamming your BBM Rap! ☮

Last BB-talk of the week.

As of the moment, I’m tired of thinking about BB or any complicated gadgets. My final decision for my BB is either of the following:

Thanks to reader Raych for this suggestion: Get a G-Flex 800 plan + ask Globe to activate my BIS for P450 = P1250 a month OR…

Get a G-Text 500 plan + ask Globe to activate my BIS for P450 = P950 a month OR…

Just fuckin’ wait for cellular companies to offer cheaper BB plans in the future. I mean, I can wait. I don’t need to use my BB just to surf. :|

There are PROS and CONS: What do you guys think?

****For new BB owners like me, please take note that Globe STILL has the Php450 BIS activation and the BB Personal Plans. They offer almost everything that you see in their website, except of course the Connected 24-ever which was re-launched and renamed Globe SuperSurf (24/7 unlimited mobile internet, P2000 a month). Beware of csr’s that offer ONLY SuperSurf. Seems to me that not all of them are knowledgeable with their products and services. ****
